After that I installed it again, but the way you would normally do an update when the PS3 starts up normally the via "System Update" and then via "flash drive" inserted in the right usb port.Īfter that I started the PS3 up again and then did a shutdown. I installed a 512GB SSD drive about a week back(changed back a day after to the normal 320GB because I could not see a big speed increase of my system) into my PS3 and installed the original OFM 4.86 software from Sony's website that I downloaded in the safe mode way, flash drive inserted in right usb port.
I have the same PS3, same model number CECH-3004b. I have some SSD's lying around and started to play around and used one of them on the PS3. If you formatted your drive, sad to say but them all is gone. I new that the PS3 was using other file partitioning formats, had to be. My pc did not recognized the hdd and luckily I did not format it.
I have done the same, took the HDD out and installed it into my pc.
